Association for Continence Advice Annual Conference moves online

Date: 26/04/21

Due to the last year, the majority of conferences and events have had to be postponed or cancelled outright. The good news is that the Association for Continence Advice Annual Conference 2021 is not one of them.

This informative, inspiring and educational gathering was considered so important to so many people that the Association for Continence Advice has gone to great lengths to move the event online.

Through months of hard work and innovation, they have created a unique virtual symposium to bring continence carers and healthcare professionals the very latest news about products and projects, as well as fascinating advice and perspectives on living with incontinence.

When is it?
The Association for Continence Advice Annual Conference 2021 takes place on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th May from 8.45am each day. Just like the usual face-to-face conference, there is a full line up of sessions lasting from 15mins to an hour. There will also be a chance to network with other delegates and visit the online exhibition.

How will it work?
ACA have partnered with the UK’s leading conference recording and streaming specialists to ensure a high-quality experience for all delegates. This is not just a series of online lectures; the aim is to provide as close to the live conference experience as possible, complete with the chance to meet and chat with your fellow professionals.

What is the programme?
Highlights of the conference include:

  • 40 years of the ACA
  • Continence Advisors are Awesome: Dame Yvonne Moores (Keynote speaker - Monday 24th May)
  • The National Bladder and Bowel Health Project: Sue Doheny (Keynote speaker - Tuesday 25th May)
  • Bowel Problems in People with Learning Disabilities
  • Bladder Training App for Young People
  • Advances in the Uses of Robotics with the Pelvic Floor
  • The Future of Virtual ACA Branches
  • Physical/Medical Aspects of Sexuality and Continence
  • The Impact of Continence Issues on the Individual, Relationships and Intimacy
  • Medication and the Link to the Bladder

You can download a full pdf programme including times and topics. Delegates will also be able to watch ‘catch-up’ recordings of the conference until the end of September.

What does it cost?
Virtual conference attendance for Association members is just £35 for both full days, or £90 for non-members. With ACA Membership just £50 per year, this could be a good time to join the Association and save on your conference fees at the same time. Student passes are free.
